Timeless Comfort in a 1930s Bucharest Apartment

Nestled in the heart of Bucharest, this rental apartment breathes new life into a beautifully preserved 1930s building. The redesign focuses on spaciousness and calm, transforming three of the original four rooms into generous bedrooms—each featuring not just a sleeping area, but also a cozy sitting zone with a TV.

The layout invites relaxation without compromising functionality. Instead of conventional wardrobes, custom low-profile storage pieces stretch horizontally, keeping the space open and balanced. For garments that need hanging, timber-crafted hangers double as sculptural accents, blending form and function.

Original timber flooring, impeccably maintained, grounds the space in its historical charm. Soft grey walls gently highlight the deep window sills, creating an elegant frame for the natural light that pours in through the tall windows. With high ceilings throughout, each bedroom is topped with a paper pendant lamp that casts a diffuse, relaxed glow.

A curated mix of mid-century inspiration and modern touches brings warmth and character. To add a dynamic layer, each room features artwork available for sale—supporting local artists while keeping the space ever-evolving and subtly exclusive.

This is not just a rental; it’s a curated living experience in one of Bucharest’s most characterful settings.
